About Us

A Voice For Animals is the website of pet columnist Sharon Hubbard, currently the pet columnist for The South Bay Neighbor and The Neighbor Newspaper. Sharon co-produced and hosted a Saturday morning TV show called Your Best Friend's Waiting for TCI Cable and produced a daily pet show for Cablevision called Paws To Care. Many people credit Sharon with being the first person on Long Island to call attention to the plight of the Municipal Shelter animals on a consistant basis in a weekly pet column.

Our mission is to transition the municipal shelters to NO KILL ANIMAL SHELTERS and to make life better for the pets currently residing in the shelters while the transition is taking place. We are dedicated to telling the public THE TRUTH about how public town animal shelters are run and how public tax dollars are spent.

A Voice For Animals is here to support those organizations who share our commitment to the animals those organizations with all the resources at our disposal, both morally and monetarily .

Our adoption pages are a place to fall in love with your new best friend, the first step towards saving a wonderful companion animal who deserves a great home.

When you click on an advertisement on the A Voice For Animals ad page, buy our outstanding merchandise or make a donation, you are helping AVFA support the work of many groups, and the welfare of countless numbers of animals. The proceeds from our efforts are spent on rescuing shelter dogs and cats, veterinary care, food, and for boarding. The value of your financial support cannot be overstated since there is so much to be done for so many animals.

AVFA welcomes your comments and suggestions, and invites you to join us in the mission to which we have dedicated ourselves.
